Changing Perspectives

I normally don't write about camera equipment as I feel there are so many resources out there already (like Casey's video with 9.4m views!!!). I'm generally quite camera agnostic -- get me the best quality for the scope of the job and I'm happy. I try not to focus on gear as I feel like the massive amounts of choices gets in the way of just making things. But this little guy is a different and it's one of the few pieces of tech that I geeked out on.

The DJI Mavic was probably my favourite gadget purchase of last year. Although drone footage can be quite gimmicky (I generally don't include a whole lot of it), it's still such a fun experience to bring out and fly. The massively different perspective from above never gets old.

To be honest, I've found myself mostly using it for personal trips that bring me far out of the city. I have lots of bits and bobs from different flights sitting on my hard drive. Here are some clips from a trip to the Juan De Fuca trail this past winter.
