17 years since their last Stanley Cup Finals appearance, the Vancouver Canucks faced the Boston Bruins in a series that came down to game 7 with the Bruins coming out the victors with a score of 4 to 0. Many Vancouverites anticipated rioting and destruction after this loss, similarly to when the Canucks suffered a game 7 loss to the New York Rangers in 1994. Despite a strong police presence, rioting, looting, fighting and arson still occurred.
